Who We Are

Grand Family Coalition is a non-profit network of Grandparent and other kin raising kin. Grandfamilies or kinship families are families in which children reside with and are being raised by grandparents, other related family members, or adults with whom they have a close family-like relationship, such as a God parent and the biological parent is not in the home.

Our Mission:

To promote the unity of grandfamilies by creating a place where grandfamilies and services connect. Through our own experiences we know that resources and services are not always made accessible and often times grandfamilies are not aware of the services that are offered, isolating these families from each other and the resources they need.

Our Purpose:

To provide programs and social activities that encourage an inner community of grandfamilies. We promote positive thinking and emotional well being while bringing awareness to our community concerning the needs of grandfamilies. We hope to inspire the children to be involved as well as giving the grandfamilies a chance to acquaint themselves with others in their situation. We accomplish this by organizing gatherings which allow them to be involved as they feel comfortable.

We know we can do this job, we don’t have to do it alone!
